The President shall preside at all meetings of the PTO and at all Board meetings. the president shall be a member ex officio of all committees except the nominating committee. The President shall be the official representative of the PTO and shall act on behalf of the PTO in connection with the administration of the school. The President shall also coordinate the work of the officers and committees and shall perform other duties as may be necessary and proper for the operation and well-being of the PTO and the school. The President will receive and review all monthly bank statements. After reviewing the statements for appropriateness of transactions, these will be forwarded to the Treasurer.
What does all that really mean? The PTO president is the head honcho. They are the main line of communication between the Board and the school administration. They know whats going on and what each officer is doing. This is a great position for someone that is highly organized and comfortable speaking in a group setting.
