Old Business

  • Banking – Amy Kraft:
    • Remove Stephanie Banning from the First Tech Credit Union PTO Bank Account. Stephanie is no longer an active member of the PTO.
  • Donuts and Drop-off – Christina Hall:
    • Donuts and drop-off is scheduled for September 4, 2015 from 8:00 am – 9:30 am.
    • The PTO has decided that we need exposure and Donuts and drop-off is a great way to promote the PTO and get parents excited.
    • We will have a volunteer sign up form outlining volunteer opportunities (Book fair, picture day, Jog-A-Thon, Clothes Closet, Carnival, Picture Day, & Cookie Dough Disbursement Day). We would also like to pass out candy with our contact information, set up a table to display spirit wear, and have a carnival game to advertise the spring carnival.
  • Spirit Wear – Christina Hall:
    • The new form has 12 items and should be finalized before September 4th.
  • Cookie Dough Fundraiser – Christina Hall:
    • We are going to have the fundraiser in fall again this year. If we decide to switch it to the spring for the following year, we will need to decide mid-year.
    • The fundraiser kicks off on October 12, 2015. All information for the fundraiser will go home with the children on this date.
    • Currently we do not have a vice principal and Principal Stacy Geale is scheduled to be out of town during the kick off assembly. Fingers-crossed we get a vice principal.
    • October 30, 2015, all order forms need to be turned in. We will have approximately a week after October 30th to collect stragglers order forms.
    • On December 7, 2015 the cookie dough will be delivered around 12 noon.
  • Babysitting Volunteers – Christina Hall:
    • Beth will contact Aloha Key Club to see if she can set up volunteers to babysit for upcoming PTO meetings. Girl Scouts may also be an option.
  • PTO 1st Day Packets – Christina Hall:
    • We will include the following documents in packet:
      • Welcome Letter (short)
      • Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet
      • PTO Board Member Contact & Bio (what grade are children in, what we do, etc.)
      • Ways to Contribute (Amazon, Fred Meyer, Target, Safeway)
      • Contact Us (Facebook & Website)
      • Dates for Events
      • Where Does the Money Go?
    • Bylaws – Christina Hall:
      • Christina will send to all PTO Board Members.

New Business

  • Packet Stuffing – Christina Hall:
    • We will be stuffing the district packets on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. We will need 8-12 people to help.
    • Teachers need the packets by Friday, September 4, 2015 (Donuts and Drop-Off)
  • SCRIP – Christina Hall:
    • We have a parent, Katie Aguilar. She has volunteered to take over SCRIP and try and revive it.
  • Dining Nights Out – Christina Hall:
    • Restaurants have different nights in which they allow is to set dining night outs. We need volunteers to contact restaurants and set these up.
    • Our most successful dining nights out were Papa’s Pizza, Burgerville, and Out of This World Pizza.
    • We will have a dining night out at McMenimans on Cedar Hills in the spring. The manager asked that we advertise heavily and put in an extra effort since this is our “trial run.”
    • Christina to set up first dining night out for Menchies.
  • Back to School Picnic – Christina Hall:
    • Principal Geale loved the idea of a picnic movie night for back to school.
    • Friday, September 25, 2015 is the date.
    • Ideas include handing out ice cream, band, & food trucks
    • Christina will talk to the Oak Hills Vice President for ideas
  • Clothes Closet – Christina Hall:
    • We need a volunteer to take the lost and found items to the clothes closet. Amy has volunteered to do this.
    • One day in the spring we have to staff the clothes closet for 3-4 hours. Four to five people will be needed.
  • Parent Volunteer Meeting – Christina Hall:
    • The district strongly recommends that we attend this meeting. Christina passed out a flyer with all dates included. Some specific positions have additional meetings.
  • Book Fair – Christina Hall:
    • We had a parent volunteer to head up the book fair but unfortunately her family has moved to another district. We need a new volunteer.
    • Sani does the majority of the book fair but we need someone to run it.
  • New Website – Christina Hall:
    • Monique is making the website and is pretty close to being done.
    • Christina will be speaking with Monique after August 17th.
    • We will be buying again.
    • We need to ask to see if the website can be included on the school bulletin.
  • Alternate Meeting Dates – Christina Hall:
    • There are a few months in which the 1st Thursday of the month will not work. The new dates for September, November, and March are as follows:
      • September 17, 2015
      • November 12, 2015
      • March 10, 2015
    • Meetings will start at 6:30 pm and childcare will be provided.
    • We would like to start bringing snacks. Christina will bring the first one.
  • Jog-A-Thon T-Shirts – Christina Hall:
    • Sarah Widmer is going to obtain the Rock Creek form for their shirts.
    • We think it will be about $5,000 for the shirts.
  • PTO Bulletin Board – Christina Hall:
    • Can we move the bulletin board so more parents have access to it?
    • Search pinterest for board ideas.
  • Next Meeting Talking Points – Christina Hall:
    • We need to discuss more events such as Mother’s Day Tea, Grandparents Day, Fathers, Day, etc.
